Key Factors When Purchasing Loader Wheel Rims

Loaders take constant heavy impact during loading, stockpiling and rock handling work, so picking the right rim is not just about matching size. A poorly chosen rim can bend, crack or cause early tire damage, and easily bring unexpected downtime on site.

First, check if the rim load rating can handle your real working weight. Loaders carry frequent shock loads when scooping rock and gravel, far heavier than static weight. Anqiang uses high-strength thick steel and solid welding for loader rims, and we always leave enough safety margin for heavy cyclic loading. Never choose a rim only by its model name without checking the actual load capacity.

Make sure the rim fits your OTR tire perfectly. The bead seat and flange shape must match your tire design. If they do not line up well, the tire will slip, leak air or wear unevenly. You also need to double-check all mounting dimensions, including PCD, centre bore, offset and brake clearance. Even a tiny size error will lead to shaking, hot bearings and loose bolts while the loader works. Send us your old rim sample or drawing, and we can confirm all parameters before production.

Think about your site conditions when deciding between one-piece and split rims. Most loaders on mining and construction sites go with 3PC or 5PC split rims, which make tire replacement much easier out in the field. One-piece rims are stronger and less likely to leak, better for fleets that do not change tires often. We also offer different surface treatments for wet muddy sites or dusty quarry conditions to slow rust and flange wear.

Many buyers focus too much on the lowest price at first. Cheap rims made from thin steel usually fail quickly under loader impact. The cost from machine shutdown and tire damage will be much higher in the long run. It makes more sense to look at total running cost, including rim service life and maintenance work.

When you send an inquiry to Anqiang, share your loader model, maximum payload, tire size and site working conditions. We supply standard and custom loader rims with inspection reports for quarries, mines and earthmoving projects.
